POWER TRANSFORMERS

Power transformers, GSUs and autotransformers are widely used in the interconnection of transmission systems and large thermal, nuclear, renewable and hydroelectric generation plants. Our partner TSEA has been producing equipment for these applications for over 50 years.

VOLTAGE REGULATORS

Power distribution voltage regulators maintain distribution system voltages within a defined range. Voltage regulators enable utilities to maintain voltage levels within acceptable ranges giving utility customers the assurance that electrical equipment will operate properly.

For proper operation, reliability and availability some power systems require power quality solutions. These systems are utilized to clean up distortion that may occur in a customer’s connected load. They can be a simple capacitor bank to restore proper power factor, a harmonic filter to clean up VFD distortion, Static Var compensation for steel mill applications or a StatCom for dynamic power quality needs such as glass making, renewable power generation or semiconductor production.

Disconnect Switches are used in the utility and industrial sectors to isolate and properly ground electrical equipment in a high voltage substation and a medium voltage distribution system. They are normally three phase gang operated with a motor or manual operator.

GAS INSULATED SWITCHGEAR

Where the vacuum interrupter is housed in an SF6 atmosphere for medium voltage systems. High voltage GIS uses a gas interrupter in a SF6 atmosphere. GIS is ideal where a sealed system is critical and a small footprint is necessary.

RELAY PROTECTION AND CONTROL HOUSES

A protection relay mainly works as an electronic sensor to protect electrical apparatus and transmission lines detecting short circuits, overload and other faults. Its function is to determine a fault or overload
and then signal the operation of the upstream device such as a circuit breaker or contactor. The upstream device cuts off the power to the device or network. Many times the continuity of the balance of the electrical supply is not hampered.
